What Should I Submit?
Our editing services are for any writer looking to polish off their work, regardless of what that may be. While we will not accept academic assignments (we have to keep everything honest here), we are excited to take a look at your material. Here are some examples of what you might send to us for editing:
- Publishing Manuscripts – Writing a novel or other book and looking to publish? You need a good editor to make sure your work is clean and polished.
- Magazine and Journal Submissions – If you’re ready to begin submitting articles and stories to literary magazines and journals, start with us and increase your chances of getting published.
- Blog Articles – Many professionals need to manage a blog to stay competitive in their fields. If you’re an author, marketer or anyone else looking to keep your content professional and appealing, consult us about editing one or many articles for your blog.
- Essays and Writing Samples – Maybe you aren’t looking for publication, but are on the hunt for a job or a good graduate program. As a writer, your application essays and writing samples need to be top-notch, and an editor will help you stand out from the competition.

Rates and Services
Our editing packages follow a standard rate schedule and can be tailored to suit your needs specifically. Our more comprehensive packages include the services described in the more basic package (for example, the Substantive Editing package includes all the services of the Stylistic Editing, Copy Editing, and Proofreading packages). The listed rates reflect a 5-7 day turnaround. Need your project edited more quickly? Expedited packages are available at an additional cost.
Proofreading - $2.00/page
Our most basic service, proofreading is for writers who are already confident about the content, structure and grammar of their work. When we proofread, we check proofs of already edited material for adherence to the work’s style and for minor, mechanical errors in copy (such as spelling mistakes or small deviations in style).
Copy Editing - $3.00/page
Copy editing is our standard, middle-of-the-road package and consists of editing for grammar, usage, spelling, punctuation and other mechanics of style. More intensive than our proofreading service, a copy edit will also check for consistency of mechanics and for internal consistency of facts.
Stylistic Editing - $4.00/page
Moving beyond mechanical revision, a stylistic edit will work to clarify meaning, eliminate jargon, and polish language.
Substantive Editing - $5.00/page
Our most intensive editing package, substantive editing involves clarifying or reorganizing a manuscript for content and structure. We will not do research or write original material, but will assist in reworking provided material on a fundamental level.
